Description
Get started with open water swimming at Salford Quays. Our beginner-friendly Intro to Open Water Swimming session will teach you everything you need to swim safely and confidently outdoors.
No wetsuit? No problem, we include use of our hire wetsuits free of charge for the intro session. Wetsuits are optional.
Who Should Attend?
This session is perfect for swimmers who want to tryabout open water swimming, either before the regular season ends or to get ready for early events next year. It's also great for those interested in learning more about cold water (winter) swimming.

Open Water Session and Centre Information
Cancellation Policy: A cancellation notice of 72 hours is required for this session. To request a refund, please cancel via Eola and email the centre. Refunds will not be issued if the cancellation is made within 72 hours of the session.
Requirements
Before booking, please ensure you meet the following requirements:
- Must be able to swim 200 meters continuously.
- Must be physically capable of swimming in cold open water. Please consider any health conditions that may affect your safety in the water.
- Completion of our swim questionnaire is required to provide us with your emergency contact details and any pertinent medical information.
- Ages 17+
What to bring
- A brightly colored swim hat.
- Swimming clothes to go under a wetsuit
- Tow Floats are COMPULSORY until water temperatures reach 14 degrees (typically late May to early June). We have a few spare ones but they are on a first come first serve basis.
- Warm layers for after your swim to help you warm up.
- Neoprene gloves and socks are highly recommended for comfort and warmth in colder water.
Note: Tow Floats, goggles, and wetsuit gloves & socks are available for purchase on-site.
