Prepare for your next open water event with our focused 45-minute Open Water Event Prep session. Whether you’re a triathlete, a charity swim participant, or aiming to tackle your first open water race, this session is designed to boost your performance and strategy. With quality coaching tailored to event-specific skills, you’ll leave more confident and ready to take on any challenge.


What You Will Learn


  1. Event Strategies: Gain insights into effective strategies for open water racing, including pacing and positioning.
  2. Preparation Tips: Learn how to prepare for a swim event or a casual swim in open water, including nutrition and mental preparation.
  3. Swimming Techniques: Enhance your skills in key areas such as sighting, turning, and drafting, crucial for efficient swimming in open waters.
  4. Wetsuit and Skins Swimming: Receive tips on choosing the right gear for different conditions and mastering the use of wetsuits and skins for better performance.

Cancellation Policy: A cancellation notice of 72 hours is required for this session. To request a refund, please cancel via Eola and email the centre. Refunds will not be issued if the cancellation is made within 72 hours of the session.

Requirements

Before booking, please ensure you meet the following requirements:

  1. Must be able to swim 200 meters continuously.
  2. Must be physically capable of swimming in cold open water. Please consider any health conditions that may affect your safety in the water.
  3. Completion of our swim questionnaire is required to provide us with your emergency contact details and any pertinent medical information.
  4. Ages 17+



What to bring

  1. A brightly colored swim hat.
  2. Tow Floats are COMPULSORY until water temperatures reach 14 degrees (typically late May to early June). We have a few spare ones but they are on a first come first serve basis.
  3. Warm layers for after your swim to help you warm up.
  4. Neoprene gloves and socks are highly recommended for comfort and warmth in colder water.

Note: Tow Floats, goggles, and wetsuit gloves & socks are available for purchase on-site.



Itinerary

Meet our team over by the water 15 mins before the session to be issued a wetsuit and to get changed. The team will let you know where to go once you are ready.
