    IRF Raft Guide Workshop 

    This workshop is designed for people looking to become a Raft Guide.

    The main focuser of the course is to build core skills and

    knowledge to set you up for success in your guiding career.  


    The following topics will be covered:

    Physical Skills- Rafting techniques, crew training and management, emergency and rescue techniques.

    Theoretical and Practical Knowledge - Equipment (types and usage), safety and emergency procedures, river hydrology, leadership and signals.

    PRE COURSE REQUIREMENTS

    Training:

    1. Age 18 or over 
    2. Be able to swim

    Assessment: 

    1. Logbook 
    2. Valid 2 day First Aid training 
    3. Aged 18 or over 


    COURSE DURATION

    Training: 3 days (1st day will be 9:00-17:00. 2nd/3rd day times may vary)



    PRICE

    Training: £150 per person. Price includes mentoring between training and assessment & assessment.

    Not including IRF Fee’s for certification Guide $40, Trip leader $70,

    Instructor $130.

    All IRF awards are valid for 3 years when supported with a valid

    first aid certificate.

Great for beginner, intermediate and advanced paddlers . Next to Penarth and penarth look out, where you can see Cardiff bay, longholm, flatholm islands or Weston supper mare.
