Kids Academy - The Bitches Tidal Race Trip 2 Days - Advanced White Water

"Off the mainland of West Wales lies Ramsey island. It’s a thriving nature reserve, home to thousands of nesting seabirds and colonies of inquisitive seals. At times of equinox, when tides are highest, the animal residents are joined by another strange species – paddlers in search of adventure." Palm Equipment 2014 

The Bitches rocks lie 1km off the mainland near St Davids, Pembrokeshire. As the tide floods, the waves start to form and we surf until our arms are going to fall off and paddle the 1km back to the mainland.  

This trip is aimed at advanced paddlers, your rough ability level should be grade 3+ paddlers with a solid white water roll (ideally both sides) or competent on 8&10 cumecs at CIWW or completed a weekend intermediate Kids Academy trip. We will be aiming to surf 2 tides over the weekend, starting with the sunset tide, camping locally and then waking up before dawn for a spiritual sunrise surf.

1. Must be aged 12-17 
2. Must be competent on Class 3 White Water and be able to roll in a Kayak in White Water. 

1. Personal Kayaking Gear 
2. Towel 
3. Personal items (toiletries clothing etc for 2 days, 1 night)

Meeting at Cardiff International White Water at 11:30 on day 1 with a view to arrive back at Cardiff International White Water at around 13:00 on day 2.

 *This trip may be cancelled or changed to a surf/ river trip if weather conditions don't allow us to paddle at the bitches.
