  • Description

    It's important to acknowledge that many individuals may not possess a thorough understanding of traditional open canoeing skills and techniques. However, mastering these skills can greatly enhance your overall canoeing experience and allow for seamless navigation through a variety of terrains. By expanding your skillset beyond the basics of paddling, you'll be equipped with the necessary tools to tackle any obstacles that come your way.

    Our location will be in the Trossachs, which is a region abundant in lochs and rivers, making it an ideal spot to advance from paddling to the intricate skill of traditional techniques.

    So come on out and join us for #Tradisrad - let's learn together!

    Requirements

    This course is aimed at those who are paddling solo, but if you and a friend wish to tandem that's great.

    What to bring

    We're out learning for the full day, you will need to bring;

    1. Personal paddling clothing,
    2. Lunch,
    3. PFD*
    4. Boat*
    5. Paddles*
    6. Poles*
    7. Safety kit*

    * we can supply all of this gear on request.

    Itinerary

    There's no real fixed programme for these courses, it is very much led by the needs of the group.

    As this is a trad skills course we spend the day switching between the loch and slow-moving rivers.
