The Open Water Open Canoe Leader is designed to get you out leading paddlers on open water in a force three winds. You'll be able to lead up to six boats.

We'll also look at ways to inspire, support, and challenge paddlers and involve them in decision-making.

This award is perfect for those leading in clubs or centres, and works really well either as a stand alone award or with a coaching/instructor award.

You also need to have registered with Paddle Scotland (or your own home nation).

This is vital if you have not registered we can't assess you.

You'll be the leader so you'll need to organise your full leader kit for the environment we'll be operating in.

You'll be doing rescues so be prepared to get wet.
