Lake District Trip 16/17 May

An opportunity to paddle on one of Englands greatest lakes in stunning scenery and in the company of other paddlers.

The plan is to paddle Windermere on both days, going in different directions. Exact paddling details will be decided prior to the trip depending on the prevailing weather forecast for the weekend.

You will need to book your own accommodation and transport your own craft to the Lake District, or arrange to travel with another paddler who can transport both boats.

All paddlers completing this trip need to be competent to paddle to Trent Bridge and back and confident in their craft. They should be at Discovery level and have done capsize drills. For Kayaks a spraydeck should be used. The trip is open to Open Canoes, Kayaks and SUPs, but Open Canoeists must be confident of keeping up with the group.

You will need to bring your own craft, paddles and buoyancy aid. Club equipment can be borrowed for this trip, but needs to be collected the week before the trip. You should have appropriate clothing, and will need a packed lunch on both days.

Paddling will hopefully be on Windermere on both days, but this trip is very weather and wind dependent, so in strong winds another more appropriate lake may be chosen on both or either days.
